Team building needn't be abseiling in Wales or building a raft. Every company is only as good as it's teams and sometimes those relationships need to be encouraged. People are different after all and we can't all like everyone we work with. But we can understand how each other deals with certain circumstances and we can understand what it is that makes us different and how we work best together.

 

Team development falls into two main areas - you need to learn something from the day or you want to have a purely fun day. Both are equally as valid and are needed at different times in a teams development. By planning your team development well into the future you can ensure that your events are worthwhile, appropriate and fit your budgeting requirements.

 

Our customers tell us that one of the most useful aspects of a Banshee team day is the study of how individuals are perceived and how they interact with their colleagues. We do this through games that demand strong teamwork, full participation and a touch of lateral thinking. We follow this with an in-depth review session carried out by an expert facilitator where we discuss with the group how they felt they did and where they could improve for future exercises. We also relate this experience back to their workplace.

Another great way of highlighting individual and group behaviour is by videoing some of the challenges. The group then comments on their own behaviour and their interaction with each other. This is a powerful medium which draws attention to group dynamics which have been previously invisible to the team. It also requires the expertise of an experienced facilitator to ensure the discussion doesn’t become a witch-hunt!
